In Memoriam – Brother Vijay Maganlal Panchmatia

Posted by Martin Grahame-Dunn under Final Goodbye, News

Its less than a couple of weeks ago that Brother Vijay passed to the Grand Lodge above quietly in his sleep. He was a member of Cyril Batham Lodge of MMM and my Junior Warden in the Shakespeare Lodge of MMM No.40 TI. Brother Vijay was probably the bravest man I have ever known and his recovery after cancer that required massive facial reconstruction was remarkable. He was dedicated to raising awareness and funds for ‘Saving Faces’ in tribute to the wonderful work undertaken by their team of dedicated surgeons.

Brother Vijay will be sadly missed by us all and our deepest and most sincere condolences go to his family and his lovely wife. His contribution in all of his Freemasonry was exceptional and dedicated, particularly in the Mark. As a final farewell, his funeral at Oakley Wood was very well attended and grieving representatives were there from his craft (Lee Torre & Royal Leamington Spa) Lodges and the Mark Degree including our Deputy Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro.Phil Wills. My dear friend and Brother, it was a well spent life and your example, courage and tenacity will be remembered by us all.
