Let’s help Steve Mingo get on his bike! Cycle Ride in aid of Stand Up for Cancer

Posted by Martin Grahame-Dunn under Mark & RAM Events, News

W.Bro. Steve Mingo will be part of  a team raising money for Stand Up for Cancer by attempting to Cycle 175 miles (albeit over 3 days). The route takes them from Birmingham to Cheltenham, Cheltenham to Oxford, Oxford to Birmingham.Unlike many charitable efforts, 100% of the money that is raised for Stand Up for Cancer goes towards funding clinical research. This aims to get ground-breaking treatments and cures to people facing cancer as soon as possible.

I can guarantee that none of the riders in this picture are, or even resemble Steve Mingo!

Originating in the USA, Stand Up for Cancer launched in the UK in 2012, backed by a load of brilliant celebrities, all intent on showing cancer who’s boss. Stand Up for Cancer have raised over £38 million pounds to date, which I think you will agree is a massive achievement. Steve’ said “I sure we have all heard of or maybe have friends and family who have had or died from Cancer in one form or another so I decided that this was such a good cause to raise money for, that I had no hesitation than to jump on my bike to help, This is where I need your help – I need sponsorship!!!!!  I want to help raise over £50,000 and I have personally pledged to raise £2000!!!.”

I am sure that W.Bro.Steve and the team would be extremely grateful if we could pull together and sponsor him by donating to his mydonate page that he has set up.

Steve has promised that he will be taking plenty of pictures along the way that will no doubt find their way on to Facebook and other forms of media including this Provincial website. So, please help to support this great cause which helps improve and save people’s lives.
